Jesekiel David Kirszenbaum
(Staszow 1900 - 1954 Paris)
Born in a religious family from Poland, Kirszenbaum left for Germany in 1920 and studied at Bauhaus School under the guidance of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. In Berlin, he worked as an illustrator for a few newspapers until he moved to Paris in 1933 to devote to his art. His works were deeply inspired by Biblical scenes and the Jewish community. Baronne Alix de Rothschild was a collector of his works.
